Prairie View Places Second at SWIC Declamation Competition

Congratulations to our Prairie View Declamation team for their second-place finish at the Southwest Interscholastic Conference (SWIC) Competition on Monday, March 20, at Liberty Junior High.

Declamation is a highly competitive speech team offering students the opportunity to express themselves persuasively, comedically, oratorically, and theatrically in six categories: Humorous Duet Acting, Verse Interpretation, Prose Interpretation, Dramatic Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, and Oratorical Declamation. Performance selections are at least three minutes to seven minutes in length. Judging criteria for each category includes vocal variety, eye contact, gestures, and articulation.
