In the annual food drive challenge between District 140's two middle schools, the Eagles edged out the Patriots in their week-long collection of non-perishable food items for the Tinley Park Food Pantry. The students' combined efforts netted a total of 994.6 pounds of canned and boxed items, with Prairie View students contributing 501 pounds and Grissom students bringing in 493.6 pounds.
"I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this year's food drive and all of the Student Council members for all of their hard work,” said Prairie View Student Council Sponsor Ms. Hopkins. “It was great to see both middle schools participate in an event that gives back to the community.”
Donations were sent to the Tinley Park Food Pantry, which primarily serves the Tinley Park and Orland Hills communities.
