Prairie View Middle School Announces New Principal

Prairie View Middle School students will have a new principal when the 2022-23 school year begins in August. Assistant Principal Maura Baskovich was selected to lead the school, taking over for Principal Meghan Maurer, who was promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction.

“I am delighted to assume the role of Principal at Prairie View Middle school,” stated Ms. Baskovich.  “It has been my pleasure to serve as assistant principal for the past four years where I have had the opportunity to work with an outstanding staff and awesome families.  I look forward to continuing to cultivate relationships with our community and to provide an academically challenging and supportive environment for our students.”

Ms. Baskovich holds both a master's degree in School Leadership from Concordia University Chicago and a master's degree in College Student Personnel and Administration from Indiana University Bloomington. She is also a graduate of Loyola University Chicago with a bachelor's degree in Special Education. 

For the past sixteen years, Ms. Baskovich has served the D140 community as an Assistant Principal and an instructional and resource special education teacher. Her prior experience includes four years as a high school resource teacher for the Chicago Public Schools, experience as the Residence Hall Director and Assistant Director of Alumni Relations for Loyola University Chicago, and the Director of Alumni Relations for St. Xavier University Chicago.
