Coming in first in the annual Fire Prevention Poster Contest has its perks. On Monday, November 11th, seventh grader Kathleen was awarded a ride to school aboard a Tinley Park fire truck for her first place finish in the city-wide contest.
As part of National Fire Prevention Week, the Tinley Park Fire Department holds a poster contest each fall and invites students to depict their version of what it takes to be safe and smart in the case of a fire. This year’s theme was “Look. Listen. Learn. Be aware. Fire can happen anywhere.”
