On April 16th, eighth-grade Purk Team students were entomologists for a day. Volunteers from the Oakbrook chapter of Trout Unlimited taught students about the insects that live in cold water stream ecosystems, including those found in with the trout that we have been raising in classroom this year. Students identified characteristics of each insect, such as antennae, legs, gills, wing pads and food source.
