Battle of the Books Grand Champions
Over 100 students from sixth, seventh and eighth grades went head-to-head in Prairie View's annual Battle of the Books on Monday, April 9th. Moderated by trivia masters Ms. Lowe and Mr. Wolff from the Tinley Park Library, the battle tested contenders' knowledge and comprehension of this year's Rebecca Caudill Book Award nominees. Competition was fierce, but after several rounds, three teams emerged victorious.
Sixth grade winning team members included Samantha Dillner, Megan Campbell, Amy Owusu-Teng, Brooke Castillo and Alexis Fornero. Eighth grade winning team members included Brooke Udaykee, Chloe Krueger, Kelsey Canavan, Madeline Cotter, and Elaine Andrews. And finally, our seventh grade grand champion team included Emily Bobber, Mary O'Boyle, Teagan Gutsch, Allison Olalde and Ava Smith. All grade level winners will be treated to a Chick-fil-A lunch on April 20th.
All teams came prepared to win and deserve recognition. Congratulations to all our participants on a job well done!
