Sixth, seventh, and eighth grade PV students recently teamed up with Google Software Engineer Kay Ventura and Support Specialist JJ Shulz as part of a global celebration of the Hour of Code. Students discussed how computer science impacts their daily activities and tried their hand at coding a Star Wars game.
The Hour of Code takes place each year during Computer Science Education Week. It originally began as a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify "code", to show that anybody can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science. It has since become a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in 180 plus countries.
