The Concert and Symphonic Bands delivered an unforgettable Spring Concert at Prairie View on May 1. The seventh-grade Concert Band conducted by Mr. Forlenza turned in an exciting performance with tunes like “Afterburn: Relaunch,” “Livin' La Vida Loca,” “Rites of Tamburro,” “Squirrel Chase,” and “Majestia.”
The eighth-grade Symphonic Band conducted by Mr. Szczasny took audience members to many places and introduced them to different cultures with “Overture de Argentina,” selections from "Fiddler On The Roof," “Arabian Dances,” and “Brule River Celebration.” The concert culminated in a jammin' version of “Uptown Funk” that we're sure even Bruno Mars himself would have approved.
D140’s next concert, on Wednesday, May 8th, will feature the sixth-grade Cadet Band and both Jazz Bands. The performance will start at 7:30 in the Grissom Gym.
We hope to see you there!
