Sixteen student-athletes from Kirby School District 140 excelled at the Area E Special Olympics Track & Field Spring Games held at Thornwood High School on May 5 and 6.
D140 Track & Field athletes brought home fifteen gold medals, seven silver medals, and five bronze medals. A total of eleven D140 athletes qualified to compete in the Special Olympic State Games at Illinois State University in June.
Representing KSD 140 were students from schools throughout the District. Special Olympic Coordinators are Laura Cler and Ashley Krizik.
