On Saturday, February 12, Grissom and Prairie View band members participated in the Illinois Grade School Music Association (IGSMA) Solo & Ensemble Contest held at Liberty JHS in New Lenox. Over 80 band members worked diligently on their solos or in small ensembles since early January, many of whom received 1st Division ratings. Outside adjudicators rated performers in tone, rhythm, technique, dynamics, musicianship, and stage presentation.
