When the 2024-25 school year kicks off in August, Keller Elementary School students will be greeted by a new principal. KSD 140 educator Julie Simpson was selected to lead the school.
Simpon has been in education for twenty-eight years, with fifteen of those years spent in administration. After relocating to Illinois from Maryland eleven years ago, she joined the D140 team. She served as Grissom’s assistant principal, an educational technology facilitator, and an eighth-grade teacher at Prairie View Middle School. Mrs. Simpson holds a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Bowie State University, Bowie, Maryland, and a bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Pensacola Christian College, Pensacola, Florida.
“I'm truly excited to join the Keller community, where our shared goal is cultivating student success and offering steadfast support,” said Simpson. “I look forward to working with families, students, and staff to enhance educational experiences, foster personal growth, and strengthen the bonds that tie us together as a community.”
Superintendent Dr. Dan Callaghan said, “Julie brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to nurturing academic excellence. Her dedication to student success and well-being seamlessly aligns with our District’s mission, ensuring that every child feels supported, valued, and empowered to realize their full potential.”
