Congratulations to our fifth grade students and members of the Keller Chorus who performed the musical This Is The Rope on Wednesday, April 25th. Directed by Keller’s music teacher Ms. Larena Code, students added musical accompaniment and songs to the book This Is The Rope: A Story of the Great Migration by Jaqueline Woodson. The performance was a collection of African and African-American folk songs featuring choir soloists, narrators, and even three solo flutists telling the story of a simple rope that becomes an important part of a family’s history as they search for a better life.
