The combined choirs from Grissom and Prairie View toured to Bannes, Millennium and McAuliffe on March 21st to promote "Music in Our Schools" Month.

With an amazing 18-1 season record, our Prairie View Eagles seventh grade boys’ basketball team captured the Southwest Interscholastic Conference (SWIC) South Division regular season championship and the SWIC Tournament Championship.

While the winter season provided sub-zero temperatures outside, the Grissom Patriots turned up the heat indoors on the basketball court. For the first time since 2001, the 8th Grade Boys’ Basketball Team earned the title of SWIC Conference Champions!

KSD 140’s Polar Plunge team took a dip in the frigid waters of Lake Leisure in Joliet on Saturday, March 9.

When the Helen Keller PTO put out a call on Facebook for volunteers to help serve students Hot Lunch, they never expected the Tinley Park Police Department to respond.

D140 elementary teachers are getting a literacy assist from Andrew High School athletes who will be visiting schools this spring to read with PreK through second grade students.

Kirby School District 140 welcomes parents to Kindergarten Registration for the 2019-2020 school year on Wednesday, March 13th 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Special Olympics Gymnastics

Four student-athletes from Kirby School District 140 excelled at the Area 7 Special Olympics Gymnastics Competition held at Palatine High School on March 3rd.

On February 21st, the D140 Board of Education awarded a certificate for character, citizenship and bravery to Millennium Elementary fourth grader Angelina Marsella.

February 18th, originally scheduled as a day off for Presidents’ Day, is serving as the make up day for the November 26th school closure due to snow.

The Association of School Business Officials International has awarded Kirby School District 140 its Meritorious Budget Award (MBA) for excellence in budget presentation during the 2018-19 budget year. This is the 14th consecutive year that the District has achieved this distinction.
