Winning the annual Fire Prevention Poster Contest has its perks. On Friday, November 1, Emmalee D. was awarded a ride to school aboard a Tinley Park fire truck for her winning grade-level submission.
As part of National Fire Prevention Week, the Tinley Park Fire Department holds a poster contest each fall and invites students to depict their version of what it takes to be safe and smart in the case of a fire. This year's theme was "Smoke alarms: Make them work!"
Congratulations, Emmalee, on being the overall fifth-grade winner and grand award winner!
