One lucky kindergarten student got a memorable start to his school day. On Wednesday, October 30, Connor H. was awarded a ride to school aboard a Tinley Park fire truck for his winning grade-level submission in the annual fire prevention poster contest.
As part of National Fire Prevention Week, the Tinley Park Fire Department holds a poster contest each fall and invites students to depict their version of what it takes to be safe and smart in the case of a fire. This year's theme was "Smoke alarms: Make them work!"
