Mrs. Cheryl LaPlant
Teacher - Team Leader
Teaching has always been my passion and math has always been my strength. During college, I detoured from teaching and received my degree in Accounting. I worked downtown for many years as Controller of a company. After I had my first child, I became a stay at home mom. As he entered school, I became very active and volunteered all of the time. This reignited the passion I always had for teaching. So, I decided to go back to school and enter the field I love. Now, I can honestly say I am living my dream. I bring my love of education along with real world experience to my math class every day.
Outside of the schoolroom, I am a mother of three wonderful children. My oldest two play baseball and my daughter just started playing softball. I volunteer and coordinate fundraisers for their teams whenever I can. I also volunteer my time as a Religious Education teacher. I spent 5 years volunteering as Treasurer for the Helen Keller PTO. When I am not teaching or volunteering, I love to spend time with my family. When I do get the occassional "me" time, I can always be found reading.
