D140’s Spring 2022 survey asked questions about four key topics - School Climate, Instruction, School Leadership, and Communication.
The Kirby School District 140 Board of Education announced this evening that they have voted unanimously to hire Dr. Daniel F. Callaghan as the District’s next Superintendent.

Grissom Middle School students will have a new principal when the 2022-23 school year begins in August. Assistant Principal Michael Rumbaugh was selected to lead the school, taking over for Principal Deborah Broadwell, who is retiring at the end of June.
Beginning with the 2022-23 school year, educator Julie Simpson will join KSD 140’s administrative team as the new Assistant Principal of Grissom Middle School.
Congratulations to the 93 seventh-grade students who were recently inducted into the Grissom and Prairie View chapters of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS).
Grissom’s eighth-grade girls’ and boys’ Track & Field teams took third place at the Southwest Interscholastic Conference (SWIC) meet held at Andrew High School on Saturday, May 14.
Online Registration and Residency Verification for the 2022-23 school year ends Wednesday, May 18.
Kirby School District 140 is holding an informational meeting for District families at Fernway Park Elementary School on Tuesday, May 17 at 5:00 pm.
At the May 9 Special Board Meeting, C&H Educational Consultants provided the Board of Education with a report detailing the input gathered from community and staff members at the April 21 and April 28 superintendent search meetings.
