Today, the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) released Kirby School District 140’s annual Report Card. The Report Card shows how well our District is progressing on a wide range of educational goals.
Members of the Prairie View Boys’ Softball team were recognized at the October Board of Education meeting for their SWIC Tournament Championship win.

During Red Ribbon Week, schools across the nation join together to promote a drug-free lifestyle and encourage students to make positive, healthy choices.
Grissom’s Student Council is sponsoring Socktober through Tuesday, October 25.
Several D140 musicians were selected to perform in the Illinois Music Educators Association (ILMEA) Junior Honor Band, Orchestra, and Jazz Band Festivals.

Roughly 160 band members from Grissom and Prairie View joined the Andrew Marching Thunderbolts for the football pregame show on Friday, October 14.

KSD 140 observes Columbus Day on Monday, October 10.

On Thursday, September 28, Grissom and Prairie View girls’ and boys’ softball teams faced off in the District’s annual Crosstown Classic.
This year, D140's Winter Break will begin with a Half Day on Thursday, December 22. Elementary schools will be dismissed at 11:10 am, and middle schools will be dismissed at noon.
Just a reminder ... Friday, September 23 is a HALF-DAY.
Kirby School District 140 will have three (3) four-year seats available on our seven-member Board of Education.
D140 students and staff are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue on Friday, September 9, in observance of Patriot Day (Sunday, September 11).
The 2022 NFL season kicks off on Thursday, September 8, and we’d like to celebrate with a districtwide Spirit Day!
Just a reminder … KSD 140 celebrates Labor Day on Monday, September 5.
As required by the Illinois State Statute, our schools participate in fire, severe weather, bus evacuation, and emergency response drills during the school year.
Picture day at Grissom will be Wednesday, September 7.
The KSD 140 Band Program did a presentation concert to introduce band instruments to all District fifth-graders at Prairie View Middle School today.
