He is also a graduate of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a bachelor's degree in history. Mr. Rumbaugh has worked in Kirby School District 140 for the past ten years, including eight years as a language arts and social studies teacher at Grissom Middle School. He also served as a seventh-grade team leader for two years, and he coached the Grissom’s cross country and track and field teams for several years. Most recently, he served as an educational technology facilitator for the district.
“I am honored to return to Grissom and serve as assistant principal," stated Mr. Rumbaugh. "I know we are a school community of outstanding students, dedicated educators, and supportive families. I look forward to getting to know and work with as many of our students and families as possible during the course of this upcoming school year.”
