On Friday, March 16th, Grissom students, staff, and local law enforcement officers came together to support the Kirby Educational Foundation. The event, Grissom Gives Back, featured a series of volleyball matches with students competing against staff and law enforcement officers, as well as a fierce boys versus girls competition between the school’s two eighth-grade volleyball teams. Spectators were also treated to special appearances by the Cross Keys Irish Dancers and the Grissom Cheer/Dance Team.
Through ticket sales, concessions, t-shirt purchases, cookbook sales and donations, over $1500 was raised for the Kirby Educational Foundation. The Kirby Educational Foundation is a partnership between community members, parent volunteers, and school personnel focused on providing resources and assistance to our District families in need.
A special thanks goes out to our All-School Read Committee for planning Grissom Gives Back as a culminating activity supporting this year’s book selection, House Arrest by K.A. Holt.
