Congratulations to the Grissom 8th grade boys' basketball team who took the top spot in Southwest Interscholastic Conference (SWIC) tournament play on March 10th. The team finished in first place after defeating rival Palos South and brought home the school's first Conference tournament championship since 2005. All-Conference and Tournament M.V.P. honors went to Elijah Laws.
The Patriots finished the regular season in second place in the South Division with a 10-6 record and led the league in defense, allowing only 34 points per game.
Coached by Michael Hawrysio, the Grissom Patriots roster includes Michael George, Jacobey Findley, Noah Tuuk, Michael Waldron, Elijah Laws, Mohammad Mohammad, Doug Holcomb, Eddy Smith, Ryan Dempsey, Christian Blaske, Stephon Crittenden, Arnas Sakenis, and Kyle Knickrehm.
