Grissom Middle School recently had a PBIS Celebration to recognize positive behaviors during the second quarter. Students were able to sign up for an activity of their choice on Friday, February 16th. Activities included crafts, coding, karaoke, bingo, 3-on-3 basketball, drawing, lock box escape, science experiments and more. All the classrooms were filled with enthusiasm, laughter, and FUN!
What is PBIS?
Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) is a systematic approach that establishes and reinforces clear behavioral expectations. The goal of the program is to emphasize positive behaviors, decrease student discipline referrals, and promote the student’s commitment to his or her school. PBIS strategies support academic and social success for all students and help create a positive school climate.
