Grissom's boys and girls cross country teams overcame tough competition and warm conditions to capture team trophies and many individual awards at the 4th Annual Heenan Challenge. This year's race, named in memory of longtime Grissom teacher and coach Bob Heenan, was held on Wednesday, September 20th at Centennial Park in Tinley Park.
Grissom's boys took home the first place trophy at the six team event. Evan Rudolph lead the way for the Patriots and the rest of the field by winning the boys race. Every team member finished in the top-twenty, including Rudolph, Kenny Carter, Jax Carter, Ryan Cahill, Landon Kirksey, Jaice Abraham, and Mo Abuseini.
Grissom's girls team also made a strong showing by winning the third place trophy. Congratulations to to team members Maddie Erickson, Rylee Erickson, Fiona McHale, Ava Sherry, Maddie McGlynn, Eman Abu-Hijleh, and Ava Sherry for great races!
