Grissom recently kicked off their all-school book read by announcing this year's selection ... Four Perfect Pebbles: A Holocaust Story by Lila Perl and Marion Blumenthal Lazan.
Four Perfect Pebbles: A Holocaust Story is Marion Blumenthal Lazan’s unforgettable memoir of the devastating years that shaped her childhood. Her story is one of horror and hardship, but it is also a story of courage, hope, and the will to survive.
At a student assembly on Wednesday, May 3rd, Mrs. Lazan will present a moving first-hand account of her childhood under Hitler’s rule. Her mission as a Holocaust survivor is to stress to as many students as possible the importance of positive thinking, creativity and inner-strength. She asks students to be tolerant, true to themselves and not blindly follow others.
Please encourage your student(s) to discuss the book with you and write down any questions that they would like to ask the presenter. The entire school with be following a weekly reading schedule.
