On Tuesday, May 14, Millennium's fourth graders experienced a virtual field trip to NASA. Mr. Tim Dunn, a Launch Director with NASA's Launch Services Program at Kennedy Space Center in Florida, spent over an hour Zooming with students. He talked about the curiosity, influences, education, and Air Force experience that led him to become a Launch Specialist. He even showed them the rocket he made in fourth grade! The students learned about different types of rockets, various space missions, age-appropriate scientific and mathematical calculations that allow rockets to launch, satellites to orbit the earth, and other aspects of space travel.

The trip ended with a Q&A session, and the fourth graders even received some NASA swag! In preparation, the students researched a variety of information about space and NASA and created a line-draw presentation in Keynote for the trip.
