As part of their National Fire Prevention Week campaign, our local fire departments visit KSD 140 elementary schools in September and October to educate our students about all aspects of fire safety and prevention. This year's theme is "Fire won't wait. Plan your escape." It reinforces the critical importance of developing a home escape plan with all household members and practicing it regularly.
On Thursday, September 22, Tinley Park Fire Department personnel visited Millennium Elementary and gave students an overview of the fire truck equipment, firefighting protective clothing, and fire safety tips.
