As part of their National Fire Prevention Week campaign, our local fire departments visit KSD 140 elementary schools in September and October to educate our students about all aspects of fire safety and prevention. This year's theme is "Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety," which focuses on recognizing the different sounds smoke and carbon monoxide alarms make and what to do when an alarm sounds.
On Tuesday, September 28, Tinley Park Fire Department personnel visited Millennium Elementary and gave students an overview of the fire truck equipment, firefighting protective clothing, and fire safety tips.
