Fernway Park Elementary School News

Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled in all KSD 140 elementary and middle schools on Monday, November 19th from 1-8 p.m. and Tuesday, November 20th from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Fernway Elementary School celebrated Veterans Day with a choir performance and special guest speaker Captain Randa Melms.

This week, schools throughout the District will commemorate Veterans Day with special assemblies, patriotic programs, class projects and/or tributes to our military veterans.

Calling All Superheroes!

Calling all superheroes to Fernway Park Elementary School! Join us as we welcome Award Winning Author, Amy Logan on November 14th for Family Reading and Technology Night. Doors will be open from 6:00 - 7:30 pm.

Fernway students will have a chance to shop the Scholastic Book Fair during their regular library time next week, November 12th - 16th.

Coached by Ms. Pych and Ms. Krull, our 2018 girls' basketball team began their eight-game season on November 2nd. Best of luck on a season sure to be filled with hard work, sportsmanship, and fun. Go Falcons!

The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) released Fernway’s annual School Report Card on Wednesday, Oct. 31st. The Report Card shows how well our school is progressing on a wide range of educational goals, including preparing all students for success in college and career.

Congratulations to our Fernway fifth grade musicians who drummed their way through a concert which included songs such as "Free Ride" and "Rock Around the Clock".

Just a reminder ... Wednesday, October 31st is a START Day. Elementary schools will be dismissed at 12:30 pm and middle schools will be dismissed at 1:20 pm.

When we stand together, no one stands alone! Students and staff are encouraged to wear orange on Unity Day, Wednesday, October 24th, to show they care about safe and supportive schools and communities.

During Red Ribbon Week, schools across the nation join together to promote a drug-free lifestyle and encourage students to make positive, healthy choices. It is an ideal way for communities to unite and take a visible stand against substance abuse.

This week, Fernway students spent time learning what it means to be a good Digital Citizen.

Hike It! Bike It! Like It!

Fernway had another successful Walk/Bike to School event on Wednesday, October 10th. Over 265 students and staff laced up their shoes or put on their helmets and mapped out a safe route to school.
