Kindergarten classes at Fernway are taking a hands-on approach to science by delving into the world of chicks – where they come from, how they hatch, and how to care for them. In this unit, students learned how to use an incubator to allow fertilized eggs to develop and hatch. They studied the parts of an egg, stages of development, and the needs of the developing embryo. Lastly, they will provide for the newborn chicks needs and observe them as they grow.
