The Pennies for Patients program is part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s fundraising efforts and offers students the chance to help children with leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma by collecting spare change. With the support of our very generous Bannes families, this year's Student Council drive raised an impressive $5088.97.

February 18th, originally scheduled as a day off for Presidents’ Day, is serving as the make up day for the November 26th school closure due to snow.
Thanks to the members of Andrew High School's Varsity Athletic Leadership Team (VALT) who came to Bannes on February 6th to read to our Kindergarten through second grade students. We really enjoyed your visit!

The Association of School Business Officials International has awarded Kirby School District 140 its Meritorious Budget Award (MBA) for excellence in budget presentation during the 2018-19 budget year. This is the 14th consecutive year that the District has achieved this distinction.
Our Prairie View Cheer team recently hosted their 2nd annual Cheer Clinic which included 120 participants from District 140’s five elementary schools.
District 140 Beginning Band members look sharp and sounded polished as they performed on January 23rd before a packed gymnasium at Prairie View Middle School.
Operation Snowflake will be held at Prairie View Middle School on Friday, February 22nd...
All KSD 140 schools will be closed Wednesday, January 30th and Thursday, January 31st due to severe winter weather.
Just a reminder ... Tuesday, January 29th is a START Day. Elementary schools will be dismissed at 12:30 pm and middle schools will be dismissed at 1:20 pm.

The Board of Education and I are so appreciative of the staff, parents, and community members who enthusiastically support Kirby School District 140 each year. In 2018, the District focused on curriculum enhancements and celebrated numerous student achievements and service learning opportunities.
