Thanks to the more than 75 local and federal law enforcement officers and firemen who celebrated First Responder Day with our students and staff on Thursday, June 2.
As the school year draws to a close, we bid farewell to an outstanding group of fifth-grade students.

KSD 140 observes Memorial Day on Monday, May 30. No school.
The District 140 community was shocked and saddened to learn of the recent tragedy in Uvalde, Texas. Our thoughts and prayers are with the students, staff, and families who have been impacted by this tragic event.
At a celebration on Friday, May 20, Bannes students and staff honored veterans and thanked them for their dedicated and loyal service to our country.

On Tuesday, May 17th, the kindergarten students at Bannes Elementary enjoyed a special night with their mom or the special lady in their life.
D140 fourth and fifth-grade athletes hit the track for an afternoon of friendly competition at the District's annual track meet held on Thursday, May 12, at Andrew High School.
Online Registration and Residency Verification for the 2022-23 school year ends Wednesday, May 18.
Kirby School District 140 is holding an informational meeting for District families at Fernway Park Elementary School on Tuesday, May 17 at 5:00 pm.
At the May 9 Special Board Meeting, C&H Educational Consultants provided the Board of Education with a report detailing the input gathered from community and staff members at the April 21 and April 28 superintendent search meetings.

Kirby School District 140 brought home 13 awards from the annual South Cook Math Bowl held at Prairie State College on April 28 - 29.
Ten outstanding fifth-grade students from Kirby School District 140 recently received Awards of Excellence at the Illinois Principals Association’s Student Recognition Breakfast.
The Jazz Band performed for a crowd of over 400 people last Friday at the Illinois Principals Association (IPA) Student Recognition Breakfast at The Odyssey Venue in Tinley Park.
Grissom and Prairie View middle schools will be offering Summer Sports Camps for students in grades 5 - 8.
