July Letter from Principal Callaghan

July Letter from Principal Callaghan

Greetings Bannes Family,

It is with great honor and excitement that I formally introduce myself, Dan Callaghan, as the new Principal at Bannes Elementary School.

I graduated from Trinity Christian College with my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education.  I then went on to obtain my Master of Arts in Educational Administration and I’m now pursuing a Doctorate of Educational Leadership degree from the University of St. Francis.  I have been a part of Kirby School District 140 for 15 years:  12 years as a teacher and 3 years as an administrator. I spent my first three years teaching 3rd and 5th grade at Millennium before moving to Prairie View where I taught Health/Fitness/Physical Education and then was the Assistant Principal.

I have a passion for educating children and supporting their growth academically and socially.  My belief is that putting children first and meeting their needs are the keys to a successful school.  My mission as an instructional leader is to have all teachers engage our students in learning with high expectations, to promote student success, to maintain a safe learning environment and to prepare students to be successful in today’s society.  Like the old saying goes, I believe it takes a village working together to help our students soar to new heights.

I look forward to meeting everyone and developing a positive working relationship with you and your child(ren).

I’m excited to announce that in addition to our Bannes PTO Facebook page, I will also be posting news, pictures, and videos on social media. These social media sites will be used solely for the dissemination of information and will not be intended for conversation. Please follow @BannesBobcats on TWITTER and like us on FACEBOOK.

Sincerely,

Dan Callaghan
Principal
