Winning the annual Fire Prevention Poster Contest has its perks. On Friday, November 3rd, a Bannes Elementary fifth grader from Mr. Kamphuis' class was awarded a ride to school aboard a Tinley Park fire truck for her winning submission in the city-wide contest.
As part of National Fire Prevention Week, the Tinley Park Fire Department holds a poster contest each fall and invites students to depict their version of what it takes to be safe and smart in the case of a fire. This year’s theme was Every Second Counts … Plan Two Ways Out!, emphasizing the need for escape planning and practice.
