From the Principal
I asked you for input about the newsletter and promised you some results of that survey. 261 parents responded to the survey. This was a great response – THANK YOU!!! The PTO and I reviewed some of the feedback, and we want to begin the process of using the web site as another form of communication. The December newsletter will have a Market Day Order form enclosed as usual. We will continue to mail the newsletter in January without the Market Day order form. You can get the Market Day order form at Grissom or on the Market Day website. The PTO will continue to look at ways to increase news on the website and let you know about these features.
A virtual backpack is on the Grissom front page of the web site. We will put copies in the backpack of permission slips, tryout information, and other papers that you may need to see. This is a new feature. Please let us know of any suggestions to increase home-school communication.
On behalf of the Grissom Staff, I hope that your holiday season brings you some rest and time well spent with your family. During the Winter Recess, the Grissom Office will be closed. You can take care of urgent business at the District Office on the following days: Dec. 22, 23, 26, 29, 30, and Jan. 2 from 8:00am until Noon.
Graduation Activities begin soon. This last year at Grissom can be very exciting. In order to make sure that the enthusiasm is contained, we are having a special Parent Night for 8th Grade Parents on Jan. 7, at 7:00pm. This evening is intended to identify all events and details surrounding the actual graduation ceremony. The meeting will last for about 45 minutes. A separate evening will be planned for the Dance Committee.
