The Monarch Award and the Bluestem Award are reader’s choice book awards where children get to vote the winner! Each year, twenty nominees are selected by a committee and then students in Kindergarten through fifth grade who have read the required minimum number of books get to vote for their favorite title at participating libraries and schools throughout Illinois. State winners will be announced in April.
